High School Summer Program

The High School Summer Program at Gateway Transition Center helps youth with autism to start thinking about their futures and practicing skills needed for independence after high school.

2-week session: July 11-21, 2016

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

10 AM to 4 PM

About the High School Summer Program
  • Fun activities to practice skills needed to be independent, such as money management, meal planning, and healthy lives
  • Opportunity to work at Gateway Ink, our screen printing business, and practice job-related social skills needed to be a great employee
  • Learn about entrepreneurship through designing and printing T-shirts, workshops on marketing and selling shirts online and in person, and participating in community T-shirt sale at end of camp
  • Groups formed based on skill level and support needs
Who is a good candidate for the High School Summer Program?
  • Enrolled in high school
  • Ages 16 through 22
  • Diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder
  • Able to converse
  • Wants to become more independent in daily living
