Lamar Family Foundation has awarded a generous grant to Gateway Transition Center, Inc. to support two of our programs: Transitioning Together and the Day Program.
Transitioning Together is an 8-week research-based program for high school students with autism and their families. TT helps families learn about the transition process and connect with community resources for adults with disabilities. At the same time, the students participate in a social group, which is a place for them to start thinking about their futures and practice skills to help them become more independent.
The Day Program at GTC is combines one-on-one and small group instruction with community-based activities to help young adults with autism to develop life, social, pre-vocational, and leisure skills needed to live, work, and thrive in the community. The curriculum is tailored based on each individual’s needs and goals. The Day Program is open to young adults ages 18 to 26 with autism who have finished high school.
